We are looking for a passionate and forward-thinking Higher Education Lecturer to join our growing academic team.


Role Overview

The Higher Education Lecturer will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, supporting student development, and contributing to curriculum innovation. The successful candidate will engage students through inclusive teaching methods and apply research-informed practice in their subject area.


Skills

  • Ability to deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops at undergraduate and postgraduate levels aligned with institutional learning outcomes
  • Competence in marking, moderation and providing constructive feedback in line with academic integrity and grading criteria.
  • Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to students
  • Participate in quality assurance and enhancement processes
  • Engage in scholarly activity and/or research where appropriate
  • Skills in module design, programme enhancement, and curriculum alignment with learning outcomes and sector benchmarks.
  • Proficiency with virtual learning environments and educational technology for blended/online delivery.
  • Excellent oral and written communication for effective teaching and academic reporting.
  • Ability to support student progression, academic confidence, and independent learning strategies.

Experience


  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong understanding of assessment and feedback processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with VLE platforms (e.g., Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard)
  • Experience in academic teaching within higher education or equivalent educational settings for a minimum of 2 years
  • Proven experience in assessment design, marking, and moderation for a minimum of 2 years
  • Experience with curriculum consultation, programme review, or academic quality assurance preferred for a minimum of 2 years
  • Experience in delivering academic skills or English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
  • workshops or training is desirable for a minimum of 2 years

Desirable Skills

  • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA)
  • Experience in blended or online teaching
  • Programme leadership or module coordination experience
  • Industry experience relevant to subject area

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials that align with institutional curricula and learning outcomes.
  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences across face-to-face, blended and online modes.
  • Conduct assessment marking and moderation to agreed schedules and quality standards.
  • Provide detailed feedback that supports academic improvement and meets partner institutional criteria.
  • Contribute to curriculum design, module development, and programme review processes.
  • Assist with curriculum documentation, learning outcome mapping, and academic enhancement efforts
  • Support academic skills development for students through targeted workshops or one-to-one coaching.
  • Support English for Academic Purposes (EAP) initiatives as relevant to client needs.
  • Ensure all teaching and assessment activities adhere to academic integrity frameworks, regulatory standards, and partner institution quality assurance processes.
  • Work collaboratively with university partners, academic teams, and operational staff to align delivery with expectations.
  • Participate in institutional meetings and contribute expertise to academic projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessment outcomes, and curriculum work.
  • Prepare academic reports and documentation for internal or partner review.
